One of the largest cottages in the neighborhood (1667 SF), accommodations are ideal for a large family, an intergenerational family, two small families, or a gathering of friends. (A wide lens was used in taking most of the pictures.) The updated 3 bedroom, 3 bath cottage with hardwood floors sleeps 8 people and provides lots of space for fun and conversation. In addition to a light-filled, serviceable and comfortable open-style kitchen, the dining and living area connect to a screened porch. A cozy den with a daybed, trundle and two swivel chairs overlooks the backyard and lagoon. A small dayroom with a sunny window seat and chair is nestled next to the front entrance and leads to a separate laundry room with sink. The main suite and guest suite have queen-sized beds and seating areas, and the third bedroom has an extra long single bed and extra long bunk beds. Three full, newly renovated (2022) tile baths with hair dryers complete the layout. 

 

Our family loves the cottage and maintains it to meet our high standards. You can expect high-end bedding and plenty of bath towels. (Please bring your own beach towels.) The fully equipped kitchen - granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances - is well stocked with dinnerware and eating utensils for twelve, an abundance of pots, pans and bakeware, drip and Keurig coffee makers, and other needed amenities to provide for a simple meal or a gourmet experience. (A large outdoor Weber charcoal grill is available.) The rustic dining table seats eight people, and three bar stools provide for additional counter-top dining and conversation. 

 

The cottage is tastefully decorated for comfort and aesthetics. Ceiling fans in every room enhance year-round AC and heat. A 55"  smart TV, two additional 45" flat screen TVs with streaming service, one 45" flat screen TV for video games (Firestick provides some TV watching), wireless WiFi, and dozens of books, board games, and puzzles are provided. The screened porch overlooking the lagoon offers opportunity to relax and watch for deer and other wildlife, including alligators and a voluminous birdlife. The roar of the surf often can be heard in the background during high tides. Sounds of nature and your conversation are the only sounds likely to break the pastoral silence. 

 

A shaded, paved path in front of the house leads directly to the ocean boardwalk and one of the most beautiful beaches in America. Our area of the beach is active but much more sparsely populated than areas in front of the condos nearer to the park and hotel. To ease transition from the beach to the cottage, a faucet for feet-washing is placed at the base of the front steps and an outside shower with hot water is located inside a lattice enclosure on the private side of the house.
